How long is treatment generally?

Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy is a relatively quick therapy and depending on your circumstances and the reasons for you seeking therapy, it can be as quick as 7 to 12 sessions. However, I don’t determine a rigid amount for you as this could be counterproductive. I passionately believe that the client determines when they feel they are ready to stop sessions.

Is hypnosis mind control?

No, Hypnotherapy is not the general misconception of the swinging watch stage show, where individuals do strange things for entertainment. Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy works with education about the mind and gentle trance. Hypnotic trance is perfectly safe and natural, we all experience it every day, the moments where we drift off into a daydream state whilst watching TV, driving or any other relaxed state. The same as in all those times you are always in control of your mind throughout.

I have panic attacks and low moods, how can Hypnotherapy help?

During the Initial Consultation I gain the understanding of what you would like to change to gain control and improve your well-being. In all sessions I explain about how the mind works and how it generates the difficult feelings and thoughts you are experiencing. By adapting the explanation of how the mind works to your individual situation it can help you to understand how you can have more control over your negative thoughts. We all have the natural survival functions of Fight, Flight and Freeze. However, we have adapted these in our modern day lives into the overwhelming emotional and physical effects of Anxiety, Anger and Depression. Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy gives my clients the knowledge, awareness and coping mechanisms to prevent or reduce the moments they suffer panic attacks or low moods. Using hypnotherapy techniques and trance my clients discover that they might not be able to control the events in their lives, but they can control what they choose to feel about the events.

Can you help me lose weight?

There are no magic spells that can make you lose weight. Lifestyle, habits, modern living and moods are all contributing factors to weight management. If we change our mindset, we can change our relationship with food, alcohol consumption and exercise. Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy helps you manage your weight by reducing stress and the negativity related to weight with more positive thoughts towards lifestyle, eating and exercise. I say to my clients “don’t live life thinking I wish, change your mind to knowing you can. Weight management is changing the negative internal factors to produce the external positive factors and hypnotherapy helps this.

Do I have to have face to face sessions?

No, COVID restrictions have demonstrated that sessions are as effective and, in some case, more beneficial conducting them remotely over Zoom. Some people feel more relaxed doing sessions from the comfort and safety of their own homes. Over this period all my clients have attended sessions over Zoom and all have had positive experiences.

Is Hypnotherapy safe and effective with children?

Yes, children and adolescents are great candidates for hypnotherapy. Their unconscious mind is wide open and therefore can take in information easily and openly. They have vivid imaginations, which makes it easier for them to respond to hypnosis sessions, access their unconscious and bring about their desired positive changes.
